Thomas Koop, born in 1958, began his professional career in 1977, right after high school, at Nordstern Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG (now AXA), where he did his apprenticeship.

From 1980 to 2000 Thomas was active at Jauch & Huebener KGaA (now Aon). He held the following positions: Technical Manager, Group Manager and Customer Management, Departmental Manager of Marine Cargo, and was a Management Member of Aon Jauch & Huebener GmbH in Hamburg. During this period, he also worked as trainee in London and New York at Willis, Faber & Dumas (now Willis) and Johnson & Higgins (now Marsh).

Since 2000, Thomas has been Managing Partner at ATS Hamburg.
